How I teach

Confidence first, then everything else follows

Most students I work with aren't short on ability. They've lost the thread somewhere. My lessons slow things down just enough to find it again.

  • 01

    Find the real starting point

We work back to the idea that first felt shaky, rather than repeating this week's homework on a loop.

  • 02

Explain it more than one way

Diagrams, worked examples, talking it through. We keep going until one explanation clicks and sticks.

  • 03

    Practise, then reflect

Short, focused practice, followed by a quick look at what felt easier, so students notice their own progress.

Questions

Good to know before you enquire

If something isn't covered here, add it to your message and I'll answer it on our call.

How long is each lesson?

Most lessons run for 60 minutes. Students in exam years or working on longer essays sometimes prefer 90 minutes, which we can decide together.

Will my child be given homework?

Usually one short, focused task per week, just enough to keep ideas fresh without adding to an already busy school load.

Can parents sit in on lessons?

Of course, especially early on. Many families find students open up more once they're settled, so we'll agree whatever works best.

What if we need to pause during holidays?

That's completely fine. Lessons can pause for holidays or busy periods and pick back up with a quick recap session.

Do you tutor adults or university students?

My focus is students aged 11–18. If you're looking for help outside that range, mention it in your enquiry and I'll be honest about whether I'm the right fit.
